Raf Meersman has more than 25 years of experience in FTTH network deployment across the world. Started as CEO and founder of Comsof, an innovative software company developing powerful auto-design software for FTTH networks, and joined IQGeo in 2022 through the acquisition of Comsof by IQGeo, a UK based provider of awardwinning geospatial intelligent network management software, where Raf was Senior VicePresident for the EMEA region and since Nov 2025 Chief Customer Officer.

Raf was also heavily involved since 2008 in the FTTH Council Europe, where he contributed to studies of the council, including the FTTH Handbook, cost studies for a full FTTH coverage in Europe and the potential of convergence between FTTH and fiber backhaul for 5G.

Since 2020, Raf became a member of the Board of the FTTH Council Europe and was elected as President of the board in June 2023, hosting the successful Berlin event in 2024 under his presidency.
