Dr. Houssam Al Masri is a Smart City, IoT, and Digital Infrastructure leader with 30+ years of experience delivering fiber-first broadband, smart mobility, and integrated urban technology programmes across the MENA region. He currently serves at Khatib & Alami as Global Business Development – ICT Senior Manager, driving strategic pursuits and partnerships that connect digital infrastructure investment to measurable operational outcomes—enabling digital twin–ready cities where fiber acts as the “nervous system” for IoT, AI, and urban operations. Alongside this role, he supports Jeddah Central Development as Smart City Design Director, supervising and validating smart city and smart mobility infrastructure, ensuring KPI alignment, and shaping long-term implementation roadmaps. He is the Chairman of the Smart City Opt & App Committee at FiberConnect Council MENA and contributes to global best practices through participation in the ISO Smart & Sustainable Cities Technical Committee, with professional engagement in IEEE and the ESRI GIS community. Dr. Al Masri holds a PhD from MIT focused on Smart Cities and IoT real-time data analytics.
