Dr. Saeed Rehman, Technologist, Product Strategist, Entrepreneur Dr. Saeed Rehman is a technologist, product strategist, and entrepreneur with more than three decades of experience in fiber-optic sensing, photonics, and advanced cable systems. His career has focused on translating complex optical and photonic technologies into robust, field-deployable solutions for the, infrastructural monitoring, energy, geothermal, and carbon capture and storage (CCUS) sectors.

He holds a PhD in Optical Fiber Technology from Imperial College London and completed a research fellowship at King’s College London, where he carried out pioneering work in the early development of Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing (DFOS).

Over the past 32 years, Dr. Rehman has been actively involved in advancing DFOS from laboratory concepts to commercial and large-scale field applications. He has played key roles in technology development, productisation, manufacturing, and deployment across oil & gas, geothermal, and subsurface monitoring projects worldwide. His work bridges fundamental photonics, practical engineering, and real-world operational challenges, enabling reliable sensing solutions in some of the most demanding environments
